Green Mesh II is the second iteration of a climbing plant support system, building on a prototype first installed in Frankfurt (2020). Proposed for an office rooftop in Ho Chi Minh City, this version evolves from a single-layer mesh into a tubular configuration using six large rings to increase both spatial and structural complexity.
The design process involved form-finding through mesh relaxation using Kangaroo-Physics in Grasshopper. To ensure structural precision, segment lengths were converted to rest lengths based on the specific elastic properties of the materials used. The installation was prefabricated as six individual cylinders, which were then anchored and interconnected on-site.
